Our Story

Morning Dove Gardens is a 4 acre bio-dynamic farm situated in mission area of Kelowna BC. Surrounded by picturesque willows, year round creeks, marsh land, forest and some of the most fertile soil in BC. Our farm is rich in bio-diversity, with fruit trees, raspberries, strawberries, grapes, walnuts, hazelnuts, heritage breed chickens, our small herd of milking goats, bees, perennial herbs and our 1.5 acre vegetable garden.

We started farming out of a desire to grow our own food, live a more self sustainable lifestyle and get more in touch with the seasons and the Earth. Our farming career began with landing a job on an organic farm in Kelowna. After two seasons we had an increasing desire to find our own land and to raise our family there. So, we began the long process of looking for land that we could sustain ourselves on both physically and financially, while starting a garden on leased land by the Kelowna airport. After three years of searching we found what we had been waiting for–a piece of land with abundance of water, fertile soil, beautiful landscapes and views, surrounded by nature, with enough space to raise our own animals and make our gardens truly sustainable.

We practice only natural and sustainable farming practices. This means we never use chemical sprays on our food or land. We weed by hand, make our own compost and fertilizer, save many of our own seeds, rotate all of our crops, use only open pollinated and heirloom vegetable varieties, our animals are free range and fed only non-GMO whole grains and pasture. Due to our high water table we seldom need to irrigate and when we do it is from our pure artesian well water.

We grow fruits and vegetables for our CSA members, the Kelowna Farmers and Crafters Market, Urban Harvest and several local restaurants in Kelowna.
